Privacy policy
This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Last updated 14 October 2026
1. Responsible party and privacy contact
Tube Dubes (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2025/918325/07, is the responsible party under POPIA for personal information processed for its store. Our business address is Langhams Lifestyle Estate, 1 Tamchele Avenue, Beverley, Sandton, South Africa. Our website is www.tubedubes.co.za. For access, correction, deletion, objections or privacy complaints, contact devon@tubedubes.co.za.
2. Information and purposes
When you enquire, create an account or order, we collect names, email addresses, telephone numbers, delivery addresses, order contents, artwork instructions and payment status to quote, fulfil and support orders. If you create an account we also store a password, which is kept only as a one-way hash. We receive transaction confirmations from our payment processor and may receive delivery updates from couriers. Technical records such as IP address, browser details and security logs are processed to operate and protect the service (for example to limit repeated log-in attempts).
Information needed to process your order is identified when it is requested. Without the information necessary to fulfil an order, we may be unable to accept or deliver it. Optional marketing preferences are separate from an order and are not a condition of purchase. Do not include unnecessary sensitive or third-party personal information in artwork or messages.
3. Basis and sharing
Processing is limited to purposes supported by applicable law, including steps requested before a contract, performing orders, legal obligations, appropriate legitimate interests and consent where required. Information needed for the relevant task may be shared with our hosting provider, the payment processor, couriers and professional advisers. Disclosure may also be required by law.
Payments are made on Yoco’s own payment page; Yoco receives only the order reference and the amount (we do not send your name or contact details), and handles payment information under its own privacy notice. We never receive or store your card details. We do not sell customer information.
4. Cookies and browser storage
Cookies are small files that your browser keeps for a website. We use two kinds.
Essential cookies are always on because the shop cannot work without them: a session cookie that keeps you logged in and protects forms against forgery, a cart cookie (kept for up to 30 days) that remembers what is in your cart, and a cookie that remembers your cookie choice (kept for 6 months).
Analytics and advertising cookies are set only if you choose “Accept” on the cookie notice, which allows both. For analytics we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which pages and products people look at, so that we can improve the shop. Google Analytics sets cookies called `_ga` and `_ga_` followed by letters and numbers (kept for up to two years). For advertising we allow Google to use cookies and information about your visit to measure how our adverts perform (for example Google Ads conversion tracking) and to show you our adverts on Google and its partners’ websites (remarketing); these use further Google cookies. If you arrive from one of our Google adverts, we also keep the click identifier Google adds to the address (a “gclid”) in a cookie for up to 90 days, and with your order, so that a purchase can be matched to the advert that led to it. If you had accepted analytics, when your payment is confirmed (or, for cash on delivery, when you place the order) we also send Google Analytics, from our server, the order number, its value and the items bought (never your name or contact details), so the sale is counted even if you do not return to our site. Google receives technical information about your visit, such as the pages you view, your device and browser, and your approximate location, and may combine it with information it already holds about you, for example from a Google account you are signed in to. If you have accepted advertising and you fill in a form on our site, for example at checkout, Google’s tags may also read the email address, phone number and address you type, scramble them (a one-way “hash”) in your browser and send them to Google, so that Google can match a purchase to the advert that led to it (“enhanced conversions”). Google may process this information outside South Africa.
If you choose “Decline”, Google’s analytics and advertising tags are not loaded and no analytics or advertising cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page, or by clearing cookies in your browser (your cart and log-in will then be forgotten).
5. Retention and safeguards
We retain information for as long as needed to fulfil orders, provide support and meet applicable record-keeping obligations. Retention depends on the type of record, its purpose and any unresolved dispute. You may request deletion, subject to information we must lawfully retain.
Service providers may process information outside South Africa. Such transfers must meet applicable POPIA safeguards. We are required to take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information and to notify affected people and the Information Regulator of security compromises where the law requires it.
6. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or correction of your personal information, request deletion where appropriate, object to processing, and withdraw consent for processing that depends on consent. We may ask for proportionate proof of identity to protect your information. You may also ask whether we hold personal information about you and request a record or description of it, subject to applicable legal requirements. Withdrawing consent does not invalidate earlier lawful processing or prevent retention required by law.
Re-order reminders. After you buy from us we may email you a small number of reminders (normally up to three, spaced weeks apart) showing your last order and a button that puts the same items in your cart. Each one has an “Unsubscribe from re-order” link: clicking it stops all further reminders straight away. You can also switch them off or on in your account. Order confirmations and other messages about an order you placed are not affected.
You may ask us to stop direct marketing at any time. Marketing requires an appropriate legal basis and a straightforward opt-out. Service messages about an order are separate from promotional messages. You may complain to the Information Regulator South Africa.
7. Updates
We will publish the effective date of changes. Material changes in purposes or providers should be communicated appropriately. Statutory rights are not limited by this policy.
